Make your hair products work for you this summer

It's great to have an arsenal of hair products to treat and tame your tresses as needed, but sometimes, a little ingenuity can go a long way toward making the most of what you've got and looking fabulous in all summer environments.

If you've ever spent a day at the beach, you'll know that your hair requires extra special consideration when attempting to make it look acceptable for the evening. Allure.com recommends preparing your own spray bottle with one part conditioner and four parts water for your own custom concoction.

"Once you're settled on your beach towel, spritz hair from roots to ends, and work it through with a wide-tooth comb," the news source recommends. "Don't use a brush - it will only create a big rat's nest. This will make hair soft - even after swimming - and help bring out its natural waves."

Beyond following your normal haircare routine, it's wise to try to move with the currents as much as possible. Got salt in your locks? You can actually use it to your advantage, as it's great for styling. Even humidity and moisture can be accommodated, as long as you have the right smoothing products.
