Did you know that your skin harbors a number of built-in mechanisms for maximum body skincare effectiveness? Take it from dermatologists, who know better than anyone else about all of the amazing potential of your dermis.
Jeannette Graf, assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, told Allure.com that she literally charges her skin with sunscreen prior to hitting the sun and surf.
"Before a beach vacation, I wear sunscreen on my body every night," she told the news source. "I do it for two to three weeks ahead so the sunscreen builds up in my stratum corneum, and it makes my skin less likely to burn."
If you do decide to follow this advice, it's still important that you don't skip your normal sunscreen routine. Continue to apply it first thing every morning to every part of your body - make sure to use a broad-spectrum product and slather it on every couple of hours.
