Using a self-tanner skin care product is a great way to get a gorgeous glow without exposing your body to dangerous rays from the sun or a tanning bed. Use the following tips to make sure your fake tan looks natural and streak-free.
Prep your skin by taking a shower and shaving your legs before applying the product. If you have dry skin, be sure to exfoliate before you slather it on your body, as extra flakes can get in the way and soak up more product, creating dark spots. To avoid getting an uneven tan, put some moisturizer on areas that could get too dark, like your hands, knees, elbows and toes.
Start at your feet and work your way up your body, applying the product in a smooth, circular motion to ensure that you cover everything and don't leave any areas bare. You may need someone to help you with your back, as it can be hard to reach. Once you're done, make sure to wipe any excess product off of your palms and fingers with a wet washcloth.
Avoid getting dressed too soon after application, as many products can transfer and stain your clothes. Don't wear anything white during the first few hours after you apply to avoid obvious stains. When you're dry, feel free to flaunt your gorgeous new glow with pride.
