Protecting your hair from summer humidity

It's almost summertime, which means things are about to get hot - and sticky. Humidity is a big part of the season all over the United States, and a humid day can wreak havoc on your hair. Luckily, the right beauty products can protect your locks from frizz and frazzle.

Healthy hair that won't freak out at the first sign of June humidity starts in the shower. It's important to use a shampoo and conditioner that are natural and gentle, so they won't dry out your hair and give you split ends that stick up whenever the barometer rises. Try moisturizing products to protect your strands and keep them in tip-top shape.

In the summer, it's also good to stay away from heated styling tools like blowdryers and flat irons. These can dry out your locks, which makes them want to suck up moisture from the air. It's best to embrace your natural texture with just a bit of styling mousse to keep things under control as the temperature soars.

And if all else fails, there's always the good old ponytail to fall back on!
