Best styles to steal from New York Fashion Week

New York City Fall Fashion Week 2013 is in full swing, meaning ladies everywhere have a chance to learn what will be on trend in the months to come. The fashion gurus at Marie Claire magazine selected the most fabulous looks from the shows, so you'll be a head of the curve when it comes time to strut your stuff in autumn.

Drama
One of the top trends to come out of NYC Fashion Week is full on drama. Famed designer Oscar de la Renta pulled out all the stops for his recent show and the bold colors and rich fabrics were stunning. The designer opted for intense chartreuse numbers as well as a closing gown made of royal blue fabric with stunning silver and gold embroidery.

Case in point: Don't be afraid to go big and bold this fall. However, if you take this route, it might smart to keep your beauty products simple. A warm-toned smokey eye style and a touch of blush on your cheeks may work perfectly. A blush like the Colorescience Mineral Blush Cheek Colore could be lovely since this is a blush and brush in one and is easy for ladies on the go.

Feminine chic
Another common style seen on runways throughout the week is light and feminine looks. Ladies walking in the Tory Burch show had this style on lockdown. One of the most gorgeous frocks consisted of a light pink fabric with cap sleeves and a romantic gold collar that added a pop of luxury to the otherwise modest design.

Whimsical patterns
It seems as though mixing patterns will continue to be in fashion for the rest of 2013. Designers like Vera Wang and Marc by Marc Jacobs both took this style to heart in their own unique ways. Wang, a known romantic, kept her patterns and fabrics light and a bit muted - much of her latest collection featured black fabric with a metallic gold floral pattern.

Models at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show got to have a bit more fun with color. Ladies strutted their stuff in funky and playful jumpsuits with bold colors like yellow, green, red and cobalt blue. The models also rocked over-the-top hairstyles - something that fans might want to try for a girl's night out.

The voluminous curls were wild and free, but were toned down thanks to side bangs pinned flat against the models faces. Using certain hair products to shape your curls is a must. The Steiner Jelly Whip Styling Gel 150ml is a great option since the gel is light and flexible without weighing locks down.
