Get the sexy bed-head hairstyle

Get the sexy bed-head hairstyle

The dark days of winter are almost over, meaning it's time to ditch your boots, sweaters and unkempt hair for clothing and hairstyles that are fresh and spunky. If you've had the same long locks for years, it might be fun to spice up your look this spring with a fabulous bed-head style. Sally Hershberger, the hair guru behind Meg Ryan's famous messy- bed head look, recently dished on achieving a similar style fit for 2013 in the pages of Glamour magazine.

It starts with a cut
You might assume you can easily achieve this tousled, wavy hairstyle with a few hair products, but in reality, the style starts with getting a fresh cut.

"Ask your stylist for layers that would work well with your hair texture and cut," Hershberger told the news outlet. "For finer hair, just a few longer layers to frame the face will make a major difference."

With the perfect cut in place, it's time to have some fun with messing it up!

Two-part makeover
Now that your hair is the correct length and shape, you'll need to start the process of helping to make it seem carefree and easy-breezy. In order to avoid a flattened look, the hair expert suggests you start the transformation by flipping your head upside down and spraying volumizing hair spray underneath to give it some volume. Using a product like the Steiner Stay Put Extra Firm Finishing Spray 200 ml might be a perfect option in this instance, since the spray adds body and helps lift and control your locks.

After spraying, flip your head back over and start styling your locks with your hands - remember with bed head, bigger is better - so go to town.

When your hair is big and beautiful, it's time to tone it down with a bit of styling. Hershberger recommends rolling up one-inch sections of your dry hair around two fingers and then clipping the sections up for five minutes to achieve perfect waves. Add in a bit of Steiner Jelly Whip Styling Gel 150 ml prior to pinning the hair up to ensure the waves hold thanks to its flexible, yet strong formula.

With these few easy steps you can totally give yourself a new, fresh and youthful look your friends are sure to be jealous about. Plus, you can opt to wear the style with a middle or side part, offering you multiple looks with a few simple products and procedures.

Hey this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic however , I'd figured I'd ask. Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest writing a blog article or vice-versa? My site goes over a lot of the same subjects as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other. If you're interested feel free to send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! Terrific blog by the way!
