What is aromatherapy?
The experts at the news outlet report the theory behind aromatherapy stems from a belief that inhaling the essential oils used in the treatment works to stimulate the part of the brain that's connected to smell. Since the oils used are soothing and calming, experts believe once the signal reaches the limbic system, the scents help ease stress and pain the patient is experiencing.
