Road trips could improve relationships

Road trips could improve relationships

No relationship is perfect all the time and working at keeping the love alive can sometimes seem like more trouble than it's worth. However, if you and your guy have been going strong for awhile, but have suddenly hit a rough patch, taking a road trip together could be just what the doctor ordered. Dating site YourTango recently teamed up with Ford Motor Company to figure out if and how much road trips affect a relationship.

Road trips bring couples together
For the recent survey, the two brands compiled answers about driving, being with a significant other on the road and more data involving more than 1,000 participants. Overall, close to all people surveyed (91 percent) have taken a road trip with their significant other, while approximately 84 percent of these people revealed the trip brought them and their partner closer together.

A total of 63 percent of participants admitted being able to catch up and spend quality time together was the biggest benefit of road trips, while 60 percent found listening to good music together to be the biggest perk of hitting the open road.

Packing for a trip
If you and your guy are looking to embark on a cross-country journey to kick your romance into high gear, being a diva with what you pack is likely not an option. However, you will want to look fresh and sassy to keep your beau interested. Real Simple magazine reports there are a few key items to bring on your next adventure, starting with getting the air out of your hair products and skincare creams.

This may seem strange, but the air pressure can change from state to state, so making sure to release any air from plastic containers can help ensure your expensive creams and lotions don't explode.

Packing only the necessities, such as sunscreen products like Bliss Fabulous Everyday Face Lotion SPF 15 is a must, since getting a sunburn is sure to bring the entire trip down. On the same note, packing a multi-purpose product like Colorescience Mineral Blush Cheek Colore is a suitable option thanks to the brush-and-product combo. Another must: makeup remover for the road like FreshSkin by Elemis Make-Up Away Cleansing Wipes that helps to gently remove makeup while helping to soften and condition the skin at the same time.

Bringing along these items as well as a few pairs of shoes, wrinkle-free dresses and comfy sweats will ensure you have everything you need to enjoy the trip with your best guy.
