Get to know new looks slowly

If you've been thinking about switching up your beauty routine, don't be afraid to take it slow at first. Transitioning from face to another can be a little overwhelming for some, and if you'd rather slowly get to know the new you or take your time learning how to accomplish each look, here are a few tips you can use to highlight features one at a time:

Add a little depth to your eyes
More often than not, bold, dramatic looks, such as the smoky eye, are really more about subtlety. While runway shows might feature models whose faces are made more exotic by heavy, dark makeup, you don't necessarily need to go that far right away. Instead, try using a the Colorescience Mineral Eye Pencil to line the top lid and then smudge out that line with a cotton swab. This little bit of shadowing is an easy way to see how your eyes will look when you start adding a bolder style.

Lip looks are easier than you think
If you've always liked the idea of red lipstick but continue to avoid it, you might just need a step in between to make you feel more comfortable. Try the Colorescience Sunforgettable Lip Shine SPF 35 in the darkest shade. Because it's a primarily a gloss, the pigment isn't thick enough to look like a lipstick, but it's a step in the right direction.
