Using textures to create 3-D nails

Using textures to create 3-D nails

Nail trends are constantly changing along with the seasons, with some colors and patterns standing out among the rest. Texturized nail art is hot right now, with pop stars like Beyoncé and Lady Gaga sporting textures in their trending music videos. For those of us who don't have a team of stylists crafting our cuticles, consider the following ways in which you can recreate these looks at home:

Glitter galore
One of the easiest ways to add depth to your nails is by adding a little glitter to the surface. To master this look, there are only three simple steps to follow. First, pick your base shade. Consider a light pink or mint green to add a splash of spring, but any color will do. After applying your polish, carefully add glitter to the base of your nail while it is still wet. Allow this combination to dry, then coat with CND Speedey Top Coat .33 oz to add dimension.

Glue for gems and jewels
Another simple option for creating a 3-D look to your nails is by gluing on small, sparkling gems to the surface after adding your primary color and top coat. Instead of plastering ornaments to all 10 of your nails, consider only placing jewels on your ring fingers, giving your nails a sense of sophistication.
