Stars have been making a number of bold decisions on the red carpet recently, from golden eyebrows to deep purple lipsticks. One of the hottest Hollywood eye trends is stacking eyeliners, or using more than one color to accompany your look. This style is perfect for adding character to your ensemble, but be careful when choosing how you go about your application.
Keep your selections simple
Take a cue from January Jones and adopt a simple strategy before adding two shades to your eyes. The "Mad Men" star recently sported a royal blue on the top of her lid accompanied by a dark gold on the bottom. The opposing colors added a serious pop to her look, but the rest of her makeup remained simple: her eyeshadow was neutral while her lip shade was muted. For those who wish to recreate Jones' look, adopt a bright eyeliner for your top lid, but keep the bottom simple, using brown, gold or your favorite Colorescience Mineral Eye Pencil - Black.
Don't overwhelm with your outfit
While matching an accessory is acceptable, don't go overboard when planning the rest of your outfit. Try to stick to neutral shades, like black, beige or white, as those will make your eyes pop even more. Choosing too many colors may lead to an unwanted visual overload.
