One hot trend lighting up the red carpet this season is eyeshadow under the eye, a daring - yet chic - addition that a number of celebrities have sported alongside ornate updos and glamorous gowns. While the look may seem intimidating, it can add much needed color and spark to your regular eye routine.
Cupcakes and Cashmere reported that this addition is ideal for transforming your look from day to night time, as its deceptively simple application adds an edgy tone to your makeup routine.
Kate Mara's double-color palette
Former "House of Cards" star Kate Mara recently rocked an earthy eye look, complete with gold and green tones under her eye. These colorful hues stood out as her green and yellow dress was complete with sparkling jewels, allowing the actress' light brown eyes to stand out even more.
Balance the boldness
To rock a similar look, people should first prepare their eyes with a neutral shadow of their choosing. From there, begin by drawing a thin line on the bottom lid using your Colorescience Mineral Eye Pencil - Black. Next, sweep a light layer of your shade of choice underneath your eye using a flat brush, but be sure not to pile it on too thick, as it may produce the opposite effect you're trying to achieve. Garnish the look with a glimmery shade, like beige or dark grey, placed in the crook of your eye.
