Next time you're left a little toasted after a day in the sun, try these home remedies to soothe your burn.

Apply some yogurt
Cosmo suggested putting a layer of cold vanilla yogurt over your burn. It will help to soothe the area. The probiotics in the yogurt are great for your skin and will help speed up the healing process.

Try cornstarch
Cosmo also suggested mixing cornstarch with water to create a paste for your burn. Cornstarch is an item that most people have around their house and the paste is easy to make. The smooth texture can help with your pain. For an extra bonus, use cold water when making the paste, which will help cool down your skin.

Don't forget your tea bags
Tea has countless positive effects and makes a great drink, but you might not realize that it's also good for burns. Both green tea and black tea are good. They contain tannic acid, which can help relieve pain and heal skin, according to Everyday Roots. Green tea also contains theobromine, which works along side the tannic acid. For smaller areas, you can apply cool tea bags to your skin. If your burn requires a little more help than a tea bag can provide, make a pot of tea and let it cool. Soak a washcloth in the cool tea and lay it over the burnt skin. Add ice to the tea to help bring down the temperature faster.

The ever-important aloe 
Aloe vera gel is the first thing that many people think of when they get burned. You can easily buy this at your local convenient store. It will help cool down your skin and take away the redness that comes with a burn. For a more natural solution, you can grow your own aloe. The leaves of the plant work similarly to store bought gel and are good for small areas.

If your burn is especially bad or takes up a large area of your body, you should see a doctor for medical attention. The best way to treat a burn is to avoid getting one at all.
