Whether you're dressing your eyes up for a particular event or you want luscious lashes every day, falsies definitely serve a purpose in the world of beauty.
Some women might be turned off by the idea because it seems so complicated and intense compared to a quick mascara application. However, a few tips can help you get extra-luxurious eyelashes in no time, with very little hassle.
You need five tools to make it happen: false lashes, lash glue, tweezers, mascara and scissors. Consider buying Elemis White Flowers Eye and Lip Make-up Remover as well for pain-free removal at the end of the day.
The best time to apply false lashes is after eye shadow and before mascara or liner. It's likely that the lashes you buy will stretch beyond your natural lash line, in which case you have to measure and cut each piece. Line the falsies up with your real lashes to determine the best place to snip.
XOJane recommended using one strip for both eyes by cutting it directly in half and positioning each to the outer corners of your eyes. If you're using two full pieces, be sure to cut from the outside edge because the inside should have smaller hairs that mimic the actual shape of eyelashes. According to Beautylish, the rest of the process will be easier if you take a few seconds to bend each side into a C shape.
Although glue will probably be included in your pack of lashes, it may be beneficial to purchase some separately. Cosmopolitan recommended black glue in particular because it will blend in with your liner. If you don't trust yourself to apply a perfect line of glue to the lashes, you can use the end of your tweezers. Put a bit of glue on the handle and run it along the edge.
Grab your lashes in the center with your tweezers and blow on the glue for about five seconds. This will get the adhesive ready to stick and prevent you lashes from sliding across your lids until the glue dries. Align the falsies with your real lashes as best you can and place them with the tweezers. Use your pointer finger and thumb in a squeezing motion, and bend your real and false lashes together.
To finish the look, apply a mascara, like the Colorescience Pro Mascara, to your thick lashes. This will further lock your real and false lashes together while giving the combination a flawless appearance. After, you may want to apply black eyeliner to cover any spaces between the two sets of eyelashes.
