Top hairstyles to try in spring

Winter is here, but the good news is it will soon be over - perhaps a bit sooner if you believe the prediction made recently by Punxsutawney Phil. If you're looking for new ways to get excited about the warmer weather, Glamour is here to help. The style experts recently broke down the top hair trends to look forward to in the spring, so you'll be able to perfect them before your friends.

Bird's nest bun
This easy-breezy style is perfect for ladies who like to look their best, while also seeming low-maintenance. The fresh take on the messy bun was first seen on models during the recent Marni fashion show. To try this look, start when your hair is wet and spritz in a wave or curl-enhancing spray. Next, blow-dry your locks while messing it up using your fingers. Hair products like Steiner Abundance Volumizing Spray for Fine Hair 150 ml might be a great option since this spray helps create volume.

When the hair is dry, spray it again and then part it to one side before pulling it back into a low, loose bun. You can leave a few pieces out in back since it's supposed to be a bit messy. Finally, take the loose ends and wrap them around the bun, securing the locks with bobby pins. This style might be perfect for a post-beach get together.

Half-up
Another new hairstyle to try this spring is the half-back look. This option is a great one since it can work for ladies with both short and long locks. For this style, which models rocked during the recent Pucci show, you'll first need to flat-iron your dry hair to get it ultra smooth. Using Steiner Dire Straights Flat Iron Straightening Lotion 150 ml prior to straightening is a good idea because this product helps to protect hair from the harmful effects of heat styling.

After you've straightened your locks you should spritz on a smoothing serum to reduce frizz and flyways. When your hair is perfectly smooth and straight, pull two-inch sections from your temples back and secure them with an elastic, or a pin if it's thin enough. If your locks are too thick to use a pin in this step, simply clip one on top after the previous step to hide the elastic and instantly boost your look.
