If your energy levels have started to decline in recent years, you might be wondering if there are options other than chugging coffee all day, to feel refreshed later in the day. Consuming enough water is crucial in feeling hydrated and alert, though how and when you're drinking it can also play a role in your energy level. Fitness expert Jenn Hogg told the Cosmopolitan magazine that drinking a glass of room temperature water when you wake up can do wonders for the way you feel later on.

In fact, Hogg reports drinking cold water in the morning can actually make you feel more tired. On the same note, switching out sodas, sports drinks and other beverages for water throughout the day will help you feel full and energized without wasting any calories.

Wake up workout
Hitting the gym after a long day of work might seem like the least appealing thing to you, but getting in at last 20 minutes of vigorous exercise can help boost how you feel - both on the inside and out. Not only will exercise give you plenty of energy following the heart-racing activity, but it can also aid you in falling asleep faster, meaning you'll be more rested the next day.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults benefit from between seven and nine hours of sleep each night. Getting enough will ensure you're ready to tackle anything that comes your way the next day. 

Limit TV/computer time
Staring at a computer all day has become the norm for many office dwellers around the nation. Though you likely won't be able to avoid using your laptop for extended periods during the work week, stepping back a few times a day is a must - not only for the health of your eyes, but your energy levels too.

Hogg suggests to Cosmo that people get up and do a few stretches throughout the day. She suggests ladies stand with their feet hip distance apart and then inhale, while bringing your hands straight up above your head. From here, exhale and bring your arms slowly back down to your sides. Simple stretches like these will help refocus you on the job.
