Be fabulous in front of the camera - even if you're not photogenic

Some of us tend to look like movie stars in photos while others consistently end up with shadows on the face no matter how hard we try to get in the right light. If you've been in the latter category for much of your life, it's time to step into the spotlight. In many instances, it's not that you aren't beautiful, it's that you don't know how to properly pose for the camera. Here are a few tips for transforming your look and attitude when it's time to say "cheese."

Makeup products for a perfect glow
Even though you might be naturally beautiful, cosmetics can certainly help highlight your best features, giving you a boost in confidence. According to Cosmopolitan magazine, if you know you're heading to a party where you'll be photographed, start your makeup routine with primer.

After washing your face, apply a layer of primer like the Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm to help even out your skin tone while creating a base that your foundation can adhere to. It's best to use a primer that boasts light-reflecting ingredients so that when the flash hits your skin, you'll look soft and vibrant.

Following the primer, you should apply a liquid foundation and concealer on your trouble areas, such as your under eyes or the smile lines around your mouth. While you might assume that you'll need just a bit of bronzer or blush, the experts recommend using both beauty products before posing for the camera.

For this transformation, start by applying your favorite bronzer on your cheekbones and the perimeter of your face, then switch to a pretty pink-peach blush and swipe it solely on the apples of your cheeks. The result will be a gorgeous glow.

Body language
Now that you've figured out what makeup to wear when in front of the camera, it's time to focus on the proper way to pose. According to Reader's Digest, there are a few surefire ways to improve your appearance in photos. One of the best tricks is to keep your arms down by your side to prompt better posture.

Practice wearing multiple ensembles in front of your mirror to test which colors look best on you and which styles - ruching, tighter tops, darker jeans - help your body look its best. The pros also recommend trying out a few different smiles in the mirror to see which looks most natural. You can also smile prettier by putting your tongue behind your teeth and then smiling - this will help keep your face relaxed.

Just wondering, before I consider subscribing... is that this an actual, individually composed letter to every subscriber, or does every writer compose a single letter every single week and send the same composition to all on the subscribers they're assigned to write to?
