The evolution of Beyoncé's hair

The evolution of Beyoncé's hair

Beyoncé has been a style trendsetter since she found her place in the spotlight in the late '90s. Since the days of Destiny's Child, the singer has seen her fair share of media attention, particularly for her fashion choices. While the singer's musical stylings have remained consistent throughout the years, her hairstyles have been anything but.

Queen Bey has rocked everything from the picturesque pixie to the '70s-inspired afro, not missing a single beat as she's gone along. While her hair trends have drastically changed over the course of the past several decades, her hair game has been particularly strong in 2014.

Curled and colored coif
At the 2014 Grammy's, Bey and her husband Jay-Z stole the show with a roof-shattering performance of "Drunk in Love." While some viewers were admiring her dancing skills, we were preoccupied with finding ways to mimic her curled coif, which seemed only to improve with the fake rain that adorned the stage. Beyoncé's hair barely grazed her shoulders and grew shorter as it got closer to the back of her head. If you're looking to copy the curled midi-bob, part your hair in the middle, then apply a product that will keep your curls in place, such as the Steiner Twist and Turn Curling Cream 125ml.

Long hair, don't care
At the end of May, the singer was spotted with long - knee-length, in fact - braids in New York City. Her locks laid to one side of her body while the other remained bare, but as usual, Bey rocked the look in style. E-online reported that the singer has a history of selecting braids, uploading a similar look to her Instagram in January. However, this is the first time she sported ombre braids, with a deep brunette at the roots and much sunnier blonde at the bottom.

Waves in time for summer rays
Bey kept the ombre but ditched the dreds for her latest style, spotted at the Chime for Change charity event in New York City. Her hair fell just a few inches below her shoulder and featured a myriad of blonde, brown and golden hues, all of which blended to form effortless waves perfect for beach weather. If you're thinking about dyeing your hair a similar hue - or an amalgamation of shades - be sure to select a shampoo that will keep your colors vibrant and your hair healthy, such as the Phytocitrus Restructuring Shampoo.
