Keeping hair hydrated as the seasons change

Keeping hair hydrated as the seasons change

Fall is in the air! There's a crisp breeze, the leaves are changing...and your hair is drying out. The August humidity may have left you with some frizz, but fall's cool afternoons could have you complaining of split ends before your summer tan has even faded. Don't worry - a drop in the mercury doesn't mean you're condemned to brittle, dull locks. The right beauty products can leave your hair with shine and body, keeping it healthy and beautiful well into the autumn and beyond.

The first step to beautiful, luxurious tresses is the right shampoo and conditioner. Moisturizing products, like Steiner Thirst Quencher Moisturizing Shampoo, will hydrate your hair and add shine and strength. Don't use them too often, however - showering every day can strip your hair of the essential oils that keep it healthy. Try to wash your hair only four to five times per week, so it has plenty of time to recover between showers.

If you want to keep your hair healthy as the weather changes, you'll have to break the addiction to heated styling tools. It's okay to use your blow dryer and flat iron every once in awhile, but these moisture-zapping products can leave hair seriously thirsty. Embrace your natural texture this fall and let your hair recover from a summer in the pool.
