Water for Life – a Basic Human Right
This holiday season, timetospa is teaming up with CARE to donate $1 of every phone and online order to its Water Resources Program. It’s our way of doing something to help people in less fortunate situations. CARE’s water programs have directly affected 10 million people in 20,000 communities worldwide, ensuring they have a legal right to water.
Some governments sell water rights to private companies that impose unaffordable access fees to local communities. CARE helps ensure domestic water supply through pumps, wells and household storage containers; hygiene education; water and sanitation facilities; equitable distribution of water amongst households; efficient use of water by farming communities for irrigation, livestock rearing and non-farm uses; and they influence other environmental practices. Without human rights efforts, many cultures would literally disappear or would be exploited through local politics.
