Frozen treats to indulge in
Even though you've worked all year to get your body bikini- (or party-) ready by hitting the gym and using body toning products, being able to indulge in a few sweet treats with the family is worth the extra calories. Luckily, the pros at Woman's Day magazine recently discussed a few frozen pops that are tasty and won't make you feel guilty - a major win-win.
Layered delights
The first frozen treat to try this summer is a layered option that will satisfy anyone with a coffee craving. For this treat, and all recipes below, you'll need paper cups and popsicle sticks. Next, purchase coffee yogurt, vanilla yogurt and chocolate hazelnut yogurt.
From here, fill the cup about a third of the way with one variety of yogurt and then place the popsicle stick in the mixture. Freeze this layer for 30 minutes, then add the second flavor and freeze again for a half hour. Repeat the steps for the third flavor and after just an hour and a half, you'll have delicious, healthy yogurt pops. Get the kids involved in the fun by having them pour in and time each layer.
A switch on the classic twist
There is perhaps nothing more delightful than a soft serve twist of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. While you might crave this summertime favorite, consuming an entire cone might counteract your workout routine. Opting to create a similar taste using yogurts may be just the thing you're looking for.
To create this pop start by pouring a vanilla yogurt of your choice into a large bowl. Next, add in a few spoonfuls of chocolate-hazelnut spread like Nutella and begin to fold the two flavors together. When the two ingredients are well mixed, pour the contents into paper cups and stick in popsicle sticks, then freeze for at least an hour and a half before serving. This treat is sure to make you feel like a kid again.
Healthy store-bought items
If you prefer to kick back and enjoy the sunset after a long day in the office, then picking up a few already made health pops and frozen treats might be a better options.
