Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD?

CBD, cannabidiol, is one of over 100 compounds from the cannabis plant and is most often derived from hemp; although not exclusive to it. In fact, it can also be found in sunflowers, peppercorn, and broccoli. Why is CBD important? The human body has a vast network of receptors, the endocannabinoid system, which plays a key role in keeping everything in your body balanced and running smoothly.

How is our CBD oil manufactured?

Our hemp oil is manufactured through a patent-pending hemp extraction process which ensures the preservation of nearly all beneficial phytocannabinoids and terpenes while eliminating undesirable compounds, such as heavy metals, waxes and THC. Our state-of-the-art extraction and purification process preserves the broad spectrum profile of non-psychoactive phytocannabinoids and synergistic compounds such as cannabigerol, cannabinol, cannabichromene and over 40 naturally preserved terpenes – resulting in the purest and most luxurious CBD oil.

Where do you grow your hemp?

Our hemp is organically grown in Colorado farms using sustainable, organic farming practices.

How does CBD work?

Your body naturally produces cannabinoids which help regulate normal bodily functions. Your mood, immune system, sleep cycle, metabolism, cardiovascular system and more are all affected by your endocannabinoid system. Supplementing the body’s natural cannabinoids with hemp-derived CBD can help maintain levels of cannabinoids in your system that may be diminished by outside factors, such as stress. CBD can be used as a safe, all-natural way to promote a calm sense of well-being.

What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Both marijuana and hemp belong to the plant species Cannabis Sativa L. To be classified as hemp in the U.S., the plant must contain less than .3% THC.

Is CBD oil legal?

Yes, our hemp-derived oils are legal in all 50 states and follow the strict guidelines as set forth under the 2018 United States Farm Bill. Consumer products with broad-spectrum hemp oil comprised of up to 80% CBD and 0.0% THC are legal and provide a solution for consumers who want a supply of CBD in a botanical extract. It is federally legal to grow, sell, and consume hemp-based products (including hemp-based CBD, which we use in all Divinus products).

Do your products contain THC?

No. While some CBD oils contain some trace amounts of THC, our CBD oil is created using a state-of-the-art extraction process that results in a completely THC-free product.

How should I store my CBD? What is the shelf life?

The average shelf life is 18 months under optimal storage methods but for optimal freshness, we recommend using during the first 6-12 months of purchase.

Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD products?

Some drug tests do not differentiate between the different types of cannabinoids that are available today and may return a false positive. While we can’t legally ensure a drug test result will not show a false positive, we can, however, promise that our products will always have 0.0% THC per industry testing standards.

Will CBD get me high?

No. The intoxicating feeling from smoking or ingesting Cannabis is due to another chemical compound in the plant called tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. All of Divinus' products contain 0.0% THC so you'll never experience any sort of “high.”

How will CBD make me feel?

The effects vary from person to person. It can make some feel pleasantly calm and refreshed, like they've just gotten a massage or taken a yoga class. Despite the negative connotation or “high” imagery that comes to mind when you hear cannabis, CBD does not alter your behavior in any way. There is no intoxicating effect from taking our products.

Where can I find the third-party testing for your oils?

Every label we design has a QR code that, when scanned, takes you to divinus.com/labresults. From there, enter the batch number found on the bottom of your product bottle and click on the link to view the results.

Why is third-party testing important?

The testing results help you verify the quality and ingredients of what you are purchasing. More specifically, because of the legal requirements, you want to be able to personally check for the level of THC and the purity before you purchase or ingest any CBD. At Divinus, we have our lab results available on our website so you can reference them at any time. We take pride in our high-quality processes and ensure that our ingredients are of the highest quality and meet all legal guidelines. When you purchase from us, you can rest assured that you are getting the safest products with all of the health benefits CBD has to offer.

What do we test for in the products?

We send each batch for third-party testing for purity and potency, as well as unwanted toxins, such as heavy metals, fungi and bacteria. In addition, we test for CBD and THC levels in order to ensure the highest quality, legal products. That means we test for the potency of the cannabinoids to ensure maximum effectiveness, and we also test for the not-so-good stuff like heavy metals and pesticides.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

The human body has a vast network of receptors, the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is responsible for maintaining and controlling the body’s homeostasis, or balanced regulation of every system in the body.

Can I use/mix your products with other dietary supplements and/or prescriptions?

It's always best to consult with a medical professional before mixing CBD with any natural supplements and/or prescription medications.

What is whole plant extract?

Whole plant CBD extract is Phytocannabinoid Rich (PCR) oil. Many manufacturers use what is called isolate – where the CBD molecules are isolated without other parts of the plant. Our extract contains CBD derived from organic hemp, cultivated in the U.S., which contains most of the plant’s original compounds including other non-intoxicating phytocannabinoids, terpenes and plant waxes to create a broad spectrum, whole plant formula.

What is Broad Spectrum vs Full Spectrum?

Full Spectrum CBD products contain an array of beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes, and may contain up to 0.03% of THC. Broad Spectrum CBD products also contain an array of beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes, but, due to additional processing, 0% THC.

What is an isolate?

Isolate CBD removes all other beneficial cannabinoids from the extract, leaving only CBD. Isolate does not contain any other vitamins, minerals and terpenes.
