Summer is prime time for fun in the sun, but enjoying yourself shouldn't come at the cost of your skin's health. This season, make a commitment to lavish in the sun's rays responsibly for a healthier, prettier you.
Contrary to common belief, most of the sun damage one accumulates throughout his or her lifetime comes from all of those short, inconsequential moments spent getting the mail or walking a couple blocks to enjoy a coffee. Don't limit your sunscreen application to days on which you'll be spending a significant amount of time outside - make it a part of your morning routine so that you'll never leave the house without a full range of protection. This means hitting those oft-neglected spots, too, such as your ears, feet and the back of your neck.
Additionally, it's important not to forget about the less obvious parts of your body that need protection from the sun. Make it a habit to wear sunglasses with a UV factor of 400, and do apply SPF chapstick to your lips - after all, they're even more sensitive than the rest of your skin.
