How familiar are you with the zones of your face? According to Glamour Magazine, the ancient Chinese art of face-mapping can help you determine the secret reason behind your blemishes and acne flare-ups. Curious to see where your complexion's unseen problem areas lie? Check out some of our tips on how to map your visage.
To begin unlocking the mystery of good skin, divide the areas of your face into 14 distinct areas. Zones 1 and 3 are your forehead, while areas 5 and 9 are your left and right cheeks, respectively. For flare-ups in zones 1 and 3, your bladder may be feeling under the weather. For zits that show up on zones 5 or 9, consider cutting back on smoking and other things which could be hindering your respiratory system.
Other areas correspond with the parts of your face. Zone 2 falls over that patch of skin between your brows, and if you have problems there, it could indicate that you have a food allergy. Break outs in zones 13 and 11, which correspond to the mirror edges of your chin, could mean your hormone levels are spiking and you need to eat more leafy greens.
Once you've determined which areas are your problem spots, consider a beauty routine that can treat it specifically. For instance, if zone 12, i.e. your chin, is troubling you consider a body detox plan to help settle any uneasiness in your stomach, which is the purported source of chin area blemishes.
