Spring is almost here and for many ladies, this means the season for pretty sundresses, colorful scarves and sassy sandals is upon us. You might have become a gym rat this winter, working on your butt, abs and arms, but one area that has probably been neglected is your feet.
If you're guilty of keeping your feet buried all winter long, the time to repair the damage is now. Luckily, Health magazine recently listed its five-day plan for perfect feet, so you can feel good showing off your toes in just a few days.
To begin your total foot transformation, start by removing any old polish caked on your toes and exfoliating your little piggies with a fresh lemon. According to the experts, the lemon helps brighten up your nails, helping them look healthy in an instant.
When your feet are bright and happy, it's time to give them a thorough clean using tea tree oil. The news source reports you can find this type of oil at most health food stores and using it will help rid the skin of any dirt, grime or other issues that can arise in the winter.
Simply add a few drops of the oil to a warm bath and soak your feet in the tub for a few minutes. Feel free to use a face cloth to really get in there.
Now that your toes are clean and bright, you'll want to help refresh the skin through exfoliation. Scrub your feet with a Bliss product like Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper Sugar Scrub 12 oz, paying close attention to your ankles, the balls of your feet and the heels - all places in which dead skin tends to linger.
When your skin is soft and tender, you're ready to move on to taking care of your cuticles. Use a flat-headed product to lift up the dead skin around your toe nails and then use cuticle clippers to remove the skin. Feel free to trim and file your nails during this time too.
Finish off your foot transformation with a fresh coat of color. Make sure to choose something bright and happy like CND Nail Colour - Pinks in Tropical Coral to help get you in the mood for warmer weather.
